Sep 17, 2014The Calvert plant was a $4.5 billion project announced in 2007. It opened in 2010 and was sold by ThyssenKrupp in February 2014 before it ever reached full capacity.
Now, a joint venture between ArcelorMittal and Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corp. is operating at 80% of it's total annual capacity of 5.3 million metric tons.
