3M's Occupational Health and Environmental Safety Division (www.3M.com) introduced a welding shield that features an auto-darkening filter. The WS-320/37154 welding shield allows welders to select from three levels of dark shades — 10, 11 or 12. The light filter is shade 4 in its normal, light state, and turns dark the moment the arc is struck. It automatically returns to the lighter shade when welding stops. 3M also has introduced an economical welding shield. The WS-110/37155 welding shield features a standard glass filter plate, shade 10.
