Hypertherm (www.Hypertherm.com) has developed a compact and portable plasma cutting system that weighs 20 lbs. The portable plasma cutting system is designed to cut metals to thicknesses of ³⁄₈-in. (10 mm) and to sever metals to thicknesses of 0.472-in. (12 mm). The company says it designed the Powermax 30 for tough environments. The torch is designed without breakableceramic parts and with the company's patented safety trigger. The carrying case includes a circle-cutting guide, gloves, system shoulder strop and consumables.
