Acheson (www.achesonindustries.com), a business of National Starch & Chemical, has introduced a dry film protective coating for MIG and MAG welding processes. The company says its Aerodag CeramiShield protects items being welding and the welding equipment from spatter. The company says the product increases productivity as much as 10 percent while reducing consumable costs as much as 70 percent, Also, the company says the product eliminates the costs of cleaning capital equipment when the anti-spatter product is applied before the start of a shift. The company says the product also can be used to eliminate reaming requirements in robot MIG/MAG welding operations.
