Esco Tool's (www.escotool.com) new portable, air-powered, I.D. clamping end-prep tool can put compound bevels on large-diameter pipe made of tough-to-machine alloys such as stainless steel and super duplex. The Millhog Dictator 24 heavy wall end prep tool clamps to the inside of the pipe and compensates for out-of-round pipe. A center cage mounting sleeve with a dial indicator establishes the pipe's actual center and guides the prep tool. The tool features a ratchet cross-feed that can hold one or two cutting bits. A user sets a template that guides the bit(s) to put a compound bevel on pipe to 24-in. diameter without making additional adjustments.
