3M's Abrasive Systems Division (www.3m.com) introduced Flap Disc 947D that contains its Cubitron ceramic aluminum oxide abrasive grain for metal removal. The disc also has a grinding aid to minimize heat build-up. 3M says the disc is suitable for weld removal, weld seam blending, edge grinding and scale removal on mild and stainless steel. An X-weight cloth backing provides flexibility for grinding contoured metal parts.
