Random orbital polishers
Dynabrade Inc.
(www.dynabrade.com) introduced electric and
airpowered random orbital polishers that eliminate swirl marks from
a variety of surfaces. The company says the polishers oscillate
with a large, offset random orbital pattern to simulate a hand
motion and to remove the swirls associated with buffing and
polishing. Electric polishers have 9-ampere motors and operate at a
maximum of 2,000 rpm. Air-powered polishers are either 0.7
horsepower, operating at 2,500 rpm, or 1 horsepower, operating at
2,800 rpm. Both tools operate on shop air at 90 psi.
