Salvagnini's new S4N punching and shearing machine reduces the distance of sheet travel required to punch parts. It features a multi-press head with an integrated shear that reportedly punches and cuts parts with more speed, precision, and accuracy than turret machines. Unlike turret presses, the S4N's 96 punching tool stations do not index, reducing production time. The machines also feature 8-sec sheet feeding, automatic stacking of punched parts, scrap handling, and dynamic sheet nesting. The S4N is well-suited for flexible manufacturing.
