Mapal Head Fitting System (HFS) toolholders feature face contact with a taper connection to provide concentricity and changeover accuracy to less than 3µ (about 0.0001 in.). Reportedly, this results in a 3 3 improvement in tool life over traditional toolholding systems.

Mapal's PCD tooling is for high-speed machining applications. The company says, compared to carbide tooling, PCD tooling reduces machining times while improving tool life and surface finishes. Mapal's easily-adjusted face milling heads accept PCD inserts. And its WWS circular milling cutters machine holes, recesses, reverse surfaces, and planar surfaces at high speeds. The company's PCD gun-boring tools provide high concentricity and free chipflow.
