High-speed press brakes
PPEB press
brakes now come with hydraulic systems that reportedly speed up the
ram by as much as 30% compared to standard machines. According to
the manufacturer, additional speed lets the brakes produce parts
normally made on small, high-performance machines and also improves
output when using wide dies requiring deep punch penetration and
long ram travel. The brakes employ closed-loop variable-pump
technology that reduces electric-power consumption and servos to
control hydraulics and electronics. They feature Windowsbased
Cadman 3D-programming software. User-generated databases, created
by bending results, store bend allowance, angle correction, and
springback. Machine options include a laser that measures angles in
real time and support sheets that automatically calculate lifting
arm speed and position.
