Because of the shortage of skilled welders, a major focus at the recent Fabtech/AWS show was on education. Included in the exhibits was the Lincoln Electric (www.lincolnelectric.com) joint project with Fanuc Robotics (www.fanucrobotics.com) that offers industry and education partners a robotic welding system that focuses on enhancing the ability to train students.

The Robotic Welding Education Cell's system and program are designed to provide access to the best curriculum, materials and system, with the goal being to help instructors and students develop the skills necessary to thrive in an advanced manufacturing environment.
