Hobart Brothers Co. (www.hobartbrothers.com) has expanded one of its manufacturing operations into a new 65,000-square-foot facility in Troy, Ohio. The new facility will be used to increase production capacity for the company's welding consumables.

“We continue to see increases in both domestic and international demand for welding consumables, and are pleased to be able to invest in this expansion to support our growth,” said Grant Harvey, vice president and general manager.

Hobart Brothers expect to add 40 people to its workforce when the new plant is at capacity.

Construction on the new building was scheduled to begin in September, and will be completed by spring 2009. Hobart Brothers' other manufacturing facilities are located in Piqua, Ohio and Woodstock, Ontario, Canada.
