Miller Electric Mfg. Co. recently redesigned the special web site it maintains for training coordinators of the United Association of Plumbers, Pipefitters, Sprinklerfitters and Service Techs (UA) — one part of its ongoing effort to provide responsive service and products for pipe welding.

The new site was designed in consultation with UA leaders and available only to UA members. It provides specific product recommendations and a clear 26-percent discount pricing arrangement to simplify and expedite the product ordering process.

Instead of having to evaluate the features and benefits of hundreds of welding, plasma cutting, and power-generation products, visitors to the site can choose among products best suited to UA work. And, to eliminate the potential for incomplete grant applications, which can extend by months the time it takes to receive the new equipment or result in out-of-pocket expenditures, the new site offers complete package recommendations, including the gun/torch, wire feeder, foot controls, protective accessories and more.

For example, the new site eliminates the nine TIG (GTAW) power sources that are not commonly used by UA training facilities and provides complete product details and accessory packages for the two units that they are most likely to need.

In addition to simplifying selection for the products used the most by UA schools, the site also includes several new product categories, including fume extraction equipment, safety apparel and induction heating equipment. Further, to reduce the time it takes to locate training resources available on Miller’s public site, the new UA web site presents various training resources specific to the needs of UA schools.

Miller Electric Mfg. Co. manufactures Miller brand arc welding equipment and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Illinois Tool Works Inc.
