RathGibson Exits Bankruptcy
Welded and seamless tube producer re-launched, touts new product offerings
RathGibson LLC is the new name for RathGibson Inc., the manufacturer of welded, welded and drawn, and seamless tubing in stainless steel, nickel, and titanium that has emerged from bankruptcy. The Lincolnshire, Ill., group has been acquired by investors led by Wayzata Investment Partners.

In addition to its Chicago-area operation, RathGibson has manufacturing plants in Janesville, Wis.; North Branch, NJ; Clarksville, Ark. (Greenville Tube); and Marrero, La. (Mid-South Control Line).
During the course of its bankruptcy reorganization, RathGibson established U-Bend Manufacturing Center, to expand its offerings to power generation manufacturers. Also, it achieved ISO certification at its Clarksville, Ark., and North Branch, N.J. centers, and launched a new product line for the renewable energy sector.
“Wayzata and its partners are making a significant investment in our business because of their high level of confidence in our people, products, and future,” stated RathGibson president and CEO Michael Schwartz. “Joining forces with Wayzata allows us to focus on opportunities to provide tubing solutions throughout the world.”
