Oilfield Services Group Acquires Subsea Fabricator
Oil States buys Acute Technological Services for a reported $25 million
A subsidiary of Oil States International Inc., a Houston-based oilfield services company, agreed to buy the outstanding capital stock of Acute Technological Services Inc. It’s reported to be a $30-million deal but the buyer expects Acute will generate $25 million in annual revenues.

Acute Technologies is based in Houston also, but has operations in Brazil. It provides “metallurgical and welding innovations” for subsea component manufacturing and deep-water riser fabrication. “Acute's services and technical expertise complement our existing technologies and increase our service capabilities to be offered to the offshore, deep-water market globally," stated Oil States president and CEO Cindy Taylor.
Oil States International supplied a range of oilfield services to the oil-and-gas industry from locations worldwide, including renting production-related tools, OCTG distribution, and land drilling services. It also manufactures products for deepwater production facilities and subsea pipelines.
