FastPic® Systems (www.FastPicSystems.com) introduced the FastPic5 suite of inventory management and control software, for managing manual and automated storage and retrieval systems. It can be configured to manage single workstations and multiple work zones. It is built on the Microsoft.Net technology platform, so organizations will achieve the flexibility to keep applications current for quick response times. The Standard Interface Protocol links host order-entry systems with FastPic5, as well as many WMS and ERP systems.

The first module to be released is FastPic5 OP (Order Processing) software. Its features include improved inventory control functions, document management, parts photo library, bar code scanning, graphical bin and shelf configuration, and host integration. FastPic5 OP software uses batch picking and put-away, to improve operator picking efficiency. A graphic display feature in FastPic5 OP software allows users to move or re-slot items easily, to increase storage density within the storage medium. As material is presented to an operator, the shelf, tray, carrier, or bin is displayed in 3D, for high accuracy in locating items. A material document library provides an image for every part or family of parts, for fast and accurate picking. A document library can be attached to every material or family of materials, for quick access to additional documentation.
