Flux-cored and metal-cored nickel-alloy electrodes
Select-Arc Inc. (www.select-arc.com) has introduced two nickel-chromium-molybdenum electrodes that provide corrosion resistance in harsh environments. SelectAlloy 625-AP is an all-position, gas-shielded, flux-cored electrode primarily used for welding alloys 625, 601, 802 and 9-percent nickel to themselves and to steel. This electrode is used to clad steel when exceptional corrosion resistance is required such as chloride-contaminated cooling water in heat exchangers as well as offshore and marine environments. It is also used to join the 9-percent nickel steels used in LNG storage and conveyance equipment.

SelectAlloy 625C is a metal-cored, nickel-alloy electrode that offers virtual immunity to chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking and resistance to corrosive attacks from other types of media. In addition, it provides moderate strengths and high-corrosion resistance from cryogenic to temperatures of 1,800 F. Typical uses for Select 625C include power-generation piping systems and reactor components and high-temperature service in a variety of other engineering applications.
