Cylinder reconditioning system

Viking Corp. (www.vikingcorporation.com) has introduced the GC440 Viking Blast & Wash System — its newest welding gas cylinder reconditioning system that removes rust, enamel paint, and other surface contaminants from gas cylinders to produce an SSPC-SP6 surface finish on a continuous-flow basis. The GC440 cleans approximately 400 gas cylinders per eight-hour day ranging in size from e-medical though TK300. The machine uses two, 15-hp, PF-1 centrifugal blast wheels resulting in the GC440 to be the most cost effective flow-through machine for cylinder refurbishing on the market, said the company.

The skew roll conveyor system handles pipe or rod through the blast chamber on cast chrome V-groove part rollers. Sealed vestibules protect the workspace from abrasives. Dust evacuation systems keep the blasted material clean and the work environment dust-free. Entrance and exist cylinder load and unload systems are available, as well as many other options to increase production. Custom engineering is also available upon request.
