Gas production equipment prices to increase

The Distribution and Storage Group of Chart Industries, Inc. (www.chartindustries.com) announced it would increase surcharge and base price schedule for bulk cryogenic storage tanks, cryogenic liquid cylinders, MicroBulk products, beverage CO2 equipment and liquid helium dewars.

Tom Carey, president of the Distribution and Storage unit for Chart, said the increase was due to significantly higher prices that his company is paying for the raw nickel, copper and other metals that his uses to make its equipment.

Base prices and surcharges will increase effective for orders received after July 1, 2006. The base price increase will average 5% for bulk gas products and 3% for packaged gas products. The new surcharge and price schedules are available on the Chart website.

Chart produces engineered equipment used in the production, storage and end-use of hydrocarbon and industrial gases. The majority of the company's products are used throughout the liquid gas supply chain for purification, liquefaction, distribution, storage and end-use applications.
