Compact wire welders
The Lincoln
Electric Co. (www.lincolnelectric.com) developed Power MIG 140
models with an amperage range of 30 amps to 140 amps to run on 120V
household current. The company says the amperage range makes it
possible to produce single-pass MIG welds to 10 gauge (0.135-in.),
and self-shielded, flux-cored, multiple pass welds up to
5/16 in.

The company also developed its Power MIG 180 models to run on 208V to 230V input, with output ranging from 25 amps to 180 amps. These machines produce single pass MIG welds to 3 /16 in. and perform self-shielded, flux-cored multiple passes to 1/2 in.
Separately, Lincoln designed the PowerFeed 25M wire feeder to be portable and to have speeds of 50 ipm to 800 ipm. The feeder operates on 40V DC input power and is housed in an aluminum case that the company says is designed to protect the system. An internal heater protects consumable packages from the environment. The company says the wire-feeder adheres to IP 23 standards for high outdoor performance.
