The Lincoln Electric Co. (www. lincolnelectric.com) now offers a bench-top industrial wire feeder, Power Feed 10M, for a variety of welding applications, including automotive, shipbuilding, pressure vessels/heavy plate and oil, gas and pipeline construction. The manufacturer says the wire feeder is particularly useful when codequality work is required. It has an input of 40 volts direct current and a speed of 50 inches per minute (ipm) to 1,200 ipm. The MSP4 user interface panel has an infrared port with a Palm OS-based interface so wireless communication between a handheld device and welding system is possible.
