Cold press compacts materials
The Cold
Isostatic Press production unit (CIP) uses pressure up to 100,000
psi for compacting ceramic, powdered metals, carbon, and other
materials. The manufacturer reports the unit's
hydraulically-intensified high-pressure pump and decompression
circuit allow low wear, and its elastomer molds make for high
product repeatability. The CIP features an automated fast fill and
drain circuit with a low-pressure transfer pump. Models are
available in a variety of sizes from pilot to large production
units with configurations including low-pressure decompression,
yoke-frame or threaded-closure, and vertical or gantry-top
systems.
