Laser marks precious metals
Miyachi's
LMV1000G is a laser marker with 532 nm-wavelength laser output for
marketing plastics and previous metals. Units reportedly make
machine and human-readable marks on gold-plated electronic
components without removing any of the gold, which preserves the
plating's corrosion resistance and electrical properties. Units
produce line widths as small as 20µ, character sizes
down to 100µ, and data-matrix codes with
20µ cell sizes using standard-length lenses.
