GSI's new Spectron SLD6000 series of solid state lasers output 5 to 10 W. The lasers use conduction-cooled diode bars, which according to the company, increases the units' reliability and cost effectiveness. Options include Nd:YAG or Nd:YVO4 lasing media; water or air-cooled configurations; and direct or fiber-coupled. The lasers are for a wide range of precision-materials-processing applications including marking, trimming, scribing, and micromachining on materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, and some polymers.
