The TruLASER View is a manufacturing solution for welding operations boosting productivity and quality while cutting costs in hard tooling. The system is composed of a computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) system designed for translating and organizing 3D CAD information into an LPT laser projector, which projects eye-safe green laser up to fifty feet in distance. Some of the areas where laser projection can improve a welding operation are: eliminate any manual measurement when laying out locations; locate components faster; reduce hard tooling requirements related to layout and/or inspection; provide a repeatable, accurate method for locating weld components; reduce error from manual measurement or inspection; eliminate creation of management of templates; and create a flexible environment whereby the weld shop can respond to engineering changes immediately. The solution delivers a flexible soft tool capability that improves production, quality, and reduces dependence on tooling and manual measurement.
