Downdraft Workstation
The Downdraft
Workstation collects fumes, smoke, and particulate from a range of
metal working operations. Applications include traditional and
plasma cutting, grinding, sanding, polishing, deburring, soldering,
and shot blast. Units are also suitable for powder mixing. The
station is engineered to aerospace specifications, and captures
aluminum, magnesium, zirconium, beryllium, titanium, and other
volatile dusts, as well as traditional ferrous metal dusts, with
efficiency at 99.5 percent or better at 0.5 microns. Construction
is steel, stainless steel, or polypropylene. The stations can
include an integral Whirl Wet dust collector, which uses little
water and energy and is low noise. Multiple workstations can be
easily ducted to one dust collector where desirable. There are ten
standard sizes ranging from 1,200 to 6,000 CFM. Maximum work
surface capacity is 250 lbs./ft. 2 . Options include
tool storage, lighting, and messaging systems. Height is adjustable
for best ergonomics, and flexibility for larger workstations.
