The Studhorse 1200 and 1200 DM stud welders feature Arcon's SCR-inverter-type power supply. The welders are portable, weighing 80 lb and measuring only 19.5 X 17.9 X 10.5 in. Outputing1,200 amp, Studhorses weld full base studs up to ⁵ /8-in. in diameter. Units sport a pilot circuit for stud welding on surfaces that are not ideally cleaned and prepared and a kick-start circuit to ensure the lift cycle occurs at the right time to account for wear to the gun mechanism and variations of stud size.
