An I.D. clamping pipe milling end prep tool can cut the torched ends of flame-cut steam lines and then prepare them for welding without cutting fluids. The Prepzilla Mill-hog pipe milling end prep tool clamps to the I.D. of the pipe and features a cross-feed attachment that rotates and advances the cutting bit to sever the HAZ.

After making a clean square end, the operator then removes the tool and cut piece, reinserts the tool and can bevel and face or bevel and bore. Designed for hard to machine materials, it can cut an 8 in. schedule 160 pipe in 10 minutes and is available with 8 sets of clamps and one mandrel for cutting and prepping pipe from 1.575 in. I.D. to 8.625 in. O.D. A star wheel tripper feeds the bit 0.003 in. with each rotation to assure smooth cutting and TiN coated blades bevel without cutting oils.
