The MC1301 compactor for solid and stranded-wire welding applications produces a solid, fused-weld joint with single or multiple parts on applications such as automotive wire-harness subassemblies. The units also fuse stranded wires prior to welding to other components. The compactors feature either an AC or an inverter welder for closed-loop feedback control, and a built-in transformer. Water-cooled tungsten electrodes produce the weld heat, and ceramic tooling inserts compact the flow of metal from the sides for neat, compact joints.
