At 9.3 in., the XTR Torch has one of the slimmest profiles available to the market allowing for excellent accessibility and visibility, according to Thermal Dynamics. Also, the unit's reduced weight, overall diameter, and minimum torch-lead bend radius, increases the torch's durability in applications calling for repeated articulated motion.

The torch comes standard with profile cutting consumables, contoured to allow for high accessibility and visibility in robotic and beveling applications; a graduated scale on the torch body to help position clamping device consistently; a teach/position tool to aid positioning during setup; ultra-light flexible, robust torch leads; and self-centering torch components to maintain precise alignment.

Also new from Thermal Dynamics is the SC-3000 High Precision Torch Height Controller, an expansion of Thermadyne's automation products. The unit connects easily to all CNC and plasma systems currently on the market. The included interface contains a high-contrast display that allows operators easy access to system parameters.

Other features include: torch height displayed in distance and voltage; a built-in collision sensor to permit automatic retraction, eliminating the need for external sensors; arc voltage range of zero to 300v for all applications, from marking to cutting the thickest of materials; and easy operation with parameters limited to two dropdown menus on user interface. An optional Touch-Free Initial Height control is for working on rusted mild steel and coated stainless
