A heavy-duty, three-axis welding positioner configuration has been introduced by Wolf Robotics, for load capacities of 500 and 750 kg per side. The positioner has a Ferris wheel type of interchange between stations for operator loading and unloading, while a robot welds parts on the other side. The swing radius of the positioner is available in 100-mm increments from 1200 to 2,000 mm, and the distance between head stock and tail stock may range from 2,000 to 4,000 mm in 250-mm increments.
Wolf Robotics designs customized robotic metalworking equipment. It has supplied more than 8,200 robots worldwide for welding, cutting, material handling, material removal, and machine tending.
Designed for robotic welding applications, the new positioners can achieve full coordinated motion when integrated into a robotic welding system that uses ABB or FANUC robots. A solid divider panel protects the operator from arc flash and a cable track system protects and prolongs the life of electrical cables and hoses.
