An advanced gas distribution and management system providing for interchangeable service and continuous supply has been introduced by Concoa. Featuring an onboard web server and embedded software for remote monitoring, secure system configuration and e-mail notification of real-time system status and events, the IntelliSwitch II is suited for analytical laboratory, chemical process, instrumentation and critical gas-supply applications.
The system includes “look-back” and electronic economizer features inherent in all IntelliSwitch systems. Pushing a button or clicking a mouse allows for interchangeable service from high-pressure cylinders to cryogenic liquid cans. This capability enables users to change mode of supply based on the job or the current economic conditions, allowing smaller companies to compete efficiently and cost-effectively in a global market.
With monitoring software, the system records and transmits data that enable users to monitor activity from remote sources. An optional remote alarm system notifies appropriate personnel via telephone/e-mail continually until an emergency is resolved. Ensuring that all gas systems draw down equally, IntelliSwitch II monitors and validates them, eliminating overdraw. The unit reduces the amount of residual gas to 3% or 4%, significantly less than the standard 8% to 10%.
Field or remote adjustable software enables process flexibility and constant monitoring to ensure process or laboratory gas supply is maintained and efficient. “Low-loss” technology eliminates vaporization loss via a special valve design. The switching mechanism can be actuated locally or remotely to simplify installation and ensure failsafe gas supply.
Lane-changing storage & retrieval machine
The new lane-changing MaxTriever family of storage and retrieval machines (SRM) from Diamond Phoenix Corp. offers fast delivery from, and replenishment to, more than one aisle of a warehouse. The system is designed to change aisles so that one unit has the ability to access more of a facility, increasing warehouse space availability, simplifying inventory access and reducing overhead costs while improving productivity, warehouse control, worker fatigue and floor space usage.
The MaxTriever series of automated MiniLoad and UnitLoad SRMs is well suited for applications that include the buffering and storage of raw materials, work-in-process and/or finished goods and is effective in the replenishment of forward picking locations. Efficient in handling small parts in totes to large items, these high-speed, high-density storage and retrieval systems can replace conventional static rack or carousels to maximize vertical storage space with minimal usage of real estate. Lane changing units have equal performance to lane-bound units in terms of speed, acceleration, and positioning.
The system automatically and accurately moves items for high-volume picking operations. DiamondWare AutoTrieve software manages MaxTriever SRMs to optimize material flow, shipping & receiving and equipment utilization for continuous flow and can be interfaced to existing host WMS software.
