ESAB Welding & Cutting Products Swift Arc ML is a fully contained robotic welding system for mobile learning. It adds to ESAB’s Swift Arc series of pre-engineered robotic welding cells offered as complete ready-to-weld units, and is designed to demonstrate, develop and teach proper welding techniques, robot programming, and welding skills.

According to the developer, the mobile platform promotes on-site training and transforms any space quickly into a robotic welding training environment.

The components of the Swift Arc ML cell are ESAB’s Aristo® U5 U5000i power source, a KUKA KR6 900 robot and controller, touch-screen robot pendant, expandable cell walls, and an interlocking safety system. It’s sturdy assembly, involving a steel tube frame with acrylic windows and heavy-duty casters for easy mobility.

ESAB’s state-of-the-art Aristo welding power source and wire feeder are standard components of the cell, designed to minimize spatter and burn-through on thin materials.

TruArc Voltage is another standard feature that provide accurate voltage information for critical welding.

Other features include harmonized motion between the robot and external axes, open architecture Windows HMI, easy teaching with the PC-based controller, constant wrist orientation function, and electronic mastering for quick calibration, among others.

Designed specifically for training programs, Swift Arc ML has an interlock safety system and operator control panel that make it possible to present programming instruction and troubleshooting techniques that matter in real-life industrial robotic welding applications. An intuitive control pendant accelerates users’ ability to control the robotic systems.

The Swift Arc ML system comes equipped with an Aristo RT robotic torch. The torch’s universal contact tips can be interchanged between water-cooled and gas-cooled torches.

This complete work cell is economically configured for education. It is delivered ready for use; simply hook up the input power, gas, and wire to begin welding.
