Grieve Corp.'s (www.grieve.com) No. 885 is an electric 1,400-degree, inertatmosphere, tempering furnace that measures 24-in. wide by 36-in. deep by 24-in. high. It features 42 kW nickelchrome wire coils, a stainless steel frame, continuously welded outer shell, high-temperature door gasket, sealed heater terminal boxes, inert atmosphere inlet, inert atmosphere outlet, and recirculating blower shaft seal. Other features include 7-in. thick walls insulated with 1 in.-thick ceramic fiber blanket rated at 2,300 degrees, 2-in. thick of ceramic fiber blanket rated at 1,700 degrees, 2 in. of block insulation and 2 in. of rockwool insulation.
