Thermadyne is offering a year-round schedule of service and repair training for distributor representatives and end-users, at their facilities in Denton, TX, West Lebanon, NH, Bowling Green, KY and Chino, CA. Thermadyne manufactures metal-cutting and welding products and accessories, which are offered under brand names that include Victor®, Tweco®, Arcair®, Thermal Dynamics®, Thermal Arc®, Stoody®, TurboTorch®, Firepower® and CIGWELD®.
“Through personal training, we share a wealth of valuable knowledge and advice that distributors put into practice or pass on to customers,” stated Gail Smart, Thermadyne Sales Training Manager. “These training sessions are a productive use of time for participants because they provide valuable information on the latest technology, applications and techniques. We make sure that a great deal of hands-on time is incorporated into each of the courses so that the attendees are comfortable with the product before they leave.”
For the Thermal Arc® brand, the welding service training covers the basics of stick, MIG, and TIG welding, and basic repair of Thermal Arc systems. Sessions include power-supply platforms, conventional transformer, inverter, SCR-controlled transformer, basic sequence of operation and proper operating techniques, how to use the troubleshooting guide, and proper set-up and operation techniques. Thermal Arc product sales training includes demonstrations, setting up machines, welding techniques, product specifications and basic troubleshooting and maintenance techniques.
Victor® brand service and repair training explains basic oxy-fuel cutting terms and concepts, and demonstrates appropriate service and repair of the equipment. The course teaches use and safety of oxygen and fuel gases; torch, regulator, and cutting tip design; product specifications; torch set-up and shut-down procedures; repair of regulators and torches; and use of test equipment w/ troubleshooting techniques. Victor product sales training includes oxy-fuel processes; gas types, storage, pressure, flow, and safety; proper set-up and shut-down procedures for torch operation; and a Victor product line overview with hands-on product familiarization.
Tweco® product sales training instructs participants in arc welding processes and applications; Tweco manual and automation MIG guns and consumable parts; the series features and benefits; and demonstrates the value of Tweco equipment.
Thermal Dynamics® manual plasma service training will include set-up with proper operation techniques; troubleshooting techniques; torch and consumables selection; torch design, types of power supplies, pilot methods; schematic study; and testing of equipment. Thermal Dynamics manual plasma product sales training describes and explains the basics of plasma cutting and gouging as well as aid in the proper selection of the product for the application. Also included in the course will be plasma process and product line overview; basic sequence of operation; target markets and applications for Thermal Dynamics products; product specifications; and basic troubleshooting and maintenance techniques.
Thermal Dynamics Automation service training explains torch design, types of power supplies, pilot methods; torch and consumables selection; test equipment; troubleshooting techniques and use of the troubleshooting guide; issues with incorrect integrations; and cutting techniques with use of the cutting speed charts.
