The refueling services supplies hydrogen fuel to a test fleet of hydrogen cars and buses. Linde says it expects to refuel about 10 vehicles per day.
The technology test center and training center at the base was designed for future development of hydrogen technology.
The company said the center is part of its long-term drive to replace fossil fuels with hydrogen.
Additionally, Linde AG reported in mid-October that it has won an order to build a liquefied petroleum gas plant in Romania valued at more than 70 million euros ($88 million). The company will build the plant in Constanta for Petrom SA of Romania, and expects to finish construction of the facility in the second half of 2008.
"Romania, which will join the European Union in 2007, offers great potential for more highly interesting projects,'' Aldo Belloni, a Linde board-member, said in a statement.
The Linde Group is moving its headquarters to Munich from Wiesbaden.
