American Welding & Tank Acquires Certified Cylinder Inc.
American Welding & Tank LLC, a division of Taylor-Wharton International LLC, acquired Certified Cylinder Inc. of Crossville, Tenn., on Aug. 1, 2008.

American Welding & Tank (www.awtank.com) said the acquisition will expand its cylinder refurbishing services.
The company will operate as Certified Cylinder, a division of American Welding & Tank LLC.
Certified Cylinder recertifies and refurbishes D.O.T. cylinders, and offers a full menu of service options including pick-up, processing, recertification and delivery of completed D.O.T. propane cylinders. The company was in operation for 39 years.
Reggie Hall, former president of Certified, remains with the company in a consulting role, and Jerry Gilliam, director of operations for American Welding & Tank, now is responsible for the new business.
Brad McNeil continues as plant manager in Crossville, and other key employees agreed to continue in their current positions.
American Welding & Tank, Mechanicsburg, Pa., was founded in 1917, and manufactures and supplies tanks for residential, commercial, industrial and agriculture applications. Taylor-Wharton International LLC (www.taylorwharton.com) operates 20 manufacturing, sales, warehouse and service facilities in six countries on four continents, and markets its products in over 80 countries worldwide.
Separately, Stuart R. Jara was named vice president and general manager of Taylor-Wharton International's pressure vessel and cylinder division.
Jara will be based at the company's new Lehigh Valley offices in Allentown, Pa., reports to Hoyt Fitzsimmons, president of Taylor-Wharton.
