Slag-free wire
Metalshield gas-shielded
metal-cored wire, introduced by The Lincoln Electric Co. (www.lincolnelectric.com), combines the arc
characteristics of MIG with the performance benefits of flux-cored
welding. Designed for nearly slag-free deposits in single- or
multiple-pass welding applications, the company said Metalshield
achieves robust low temperature impact results and can be used in
semiautomatic and automatic applications. The company also said the
product is good for welding over scale or surface contaminants.
Typical applications include mining or other heavy equipment,
offshore and general structural fabrication.
