Military-approved wire
Hobart Brothers Co. (www.hobartbrothers.com) introduced the first military approved HYN classification gas-shielded, flux-cored, all-position wire for HSLA-65 grade steel, which is used to build ship hulls for the U.S. Navy. The company says its Tri-Mark TM-71HYN wire exceeds the Navy's standards for tensile and yield strengths, impact properties and diffusible hydrogen levels. The wire is used with a shielding gas mixture of 75 percent CO2 and argon.
