Select-Arc Inc. (www.select-arc.com) now offers two carbon steel, gas-shielded, composite metal-cored electrodes, for weldments that require painting. The company says that its Select 70C-6LS produces significantly less spatter than typical E70C-6M electrodes and exhibits a flat, equal-legged profile with few silicon islands and excellent bead geometry. In addition, the company says the electrodes produce 40 percent less fume than conventional metal-cored wires.
