Two new gas-shielded, flux-cored electrodes from Select-Arc Inc. (www.select-arc.com) are formulated for welding 9Cr-1Mo alloyed steels. The company says Select 810-B8 and Select 910-B9 can be used in all welding positions and feature uniform weld beads with good tie-in, smooth and stable arc transfer and increased deposition rates when compared to covered electrodes and solid wire products. The electrodes also eliminate defects such as lack of fusion and are designed to provide greater tolerance of mill scale and rust.
