Quantum Arc 3, 6 and D2 wires are new from Hobart Brothers Co. (www.hobartbrothers.com). Each meets American Welding Society ER70S-3, ER70S-6 and ER80SD2 classifications, respectively. Made of copper-coated mild steel, the wires are available in 0.35-, 0.45-, 0.52-and 0.625-in. diameters and packaged in fiber spools, wire baskets, drums and reels. Hobart says the wires are used with 100-percent CO2 or Argon-rich shielding gases and perform well on high-duty cycle and pulse welding applications.
