Hobart Brothers Co. (www.hobartbrothers.com) has added deoxidizers to its FabCO RXR, AWS E70T-1 gas-shielded, flux-cored carbon steel wire to allow operators to use flat and horizontal lap, fillet and groove welds on rust, mill scale and light oil without precleaning. The company says the wire is suited to single-or multi-pass welding applications on mild steels and some alloy steels. The company says the wire offers spray-type transfer, high deposition rates and deep weld metal penetration.
