Electrodes for food, chemical and petro plants

New bare wire and covered stainless steel electrodes — Arcos 308H — from Arcos Industries LLC (www.arcos.com) feature a restricted carbon content of 0.04 percent to 0.08 percent. Both electrodes provide for high tensile and creep strengths at elevated temperatures.

The bare wire Arcos 308H (ER308H) offers a smooth arc transfer with little spatter. It is for welding similar alloys in wrought or cast form and similar materials such as AISI grades 301, 302, 304 and 305. The electrodes, available in diameters from 0.035 in. to 0.1875 in., are well suited for welding food processing equipment and in petroleum and chemical processing facilities.

The covered Arcos 308H electrode (E308H) is used in many of the same applications as the bare wire version. The electrode's characteristics are similar to the bare wire model with the added advantage of providing easy slag removal. This covered electrode is available in diameters from 0.0937 in. to 0.1875 in.
