Rex-Cut Products Inc. (www.rexcut.com) said its new line of cut-off wheels can cut stainless steel as much as two times faster than conventional resinoid wheels. The wheels are designed for straight and right-angle grinders, and the company said they produce a small exit burr and save time and labor.

The cut-off wheels feature a reinforced resinoid bonding system made of aluminum oxide abrasives, and a thin 0.040-in. profile for rapid stock removal and cool cutting. They are available in Type 1 straight-sided and Type 27 depressed-center styles, the Alpha-Green cut-off wheels are made in 3-in., 4-in., 4.5-in., 5-in., 6-in. and 7-in. diameter sizes with a 60 grit that is 0.040-in. thick and a 46 grit that is 0.045-in. thick.

Applications include cutting stainless steel rod, pipe, tubing, and sheet. They are priced from 96 cents each, depending on quantity, and are packaged 25 to 50 per box.
