New Vista Corp. (www.newvista.com) has developed thread chasing units that clean existing internal or external threads in production parts and can clear weld spatter, chips, paint, or burrs.

The all-electric units include a servomotor, servodrive, and motion programming. Forward torque is adjustable to 10 ft-lb. Reverse torque is 20 ft-lb to assure the tool won’t stick in threads.

Three sizes chase threads from 3 mm to 50 mm (#4 to 2 in.). The units, designed to never cut a new thread, complement New Vista’s lower-torque Thread Verification Unit product line.
