Westinghouse Buys Welding Services Company

Westinghouse Electric Co., (www.westinghouse.com) a subsidiary of Toshiba Corp., has acquired Carolina Energy Solutions of Rock Hill, S.C. Financial terms weren’t disclosed. Carolina Energy Solutions (www.carolinaenergysolutions.com) supplies welding, machining and heat-treating services to the nuclear, fossil power, petrochemical and process industries.

Carolina Energy Solutions and its 60 employees have become part of Westinghouse’s PCI Energy Services division, a supplier of welding and machining services to the nuclear industry.

The acquisition includes Carolina Energy Solutions subsidiaries Aggressive Equipment, a manufacturer of field machining equipment, and the Construction Institute of America, an in-house welding school.

PCI Energy Services, based in Illinois, specializes in field welding and machining services as well tool design and manufacturing, and quality assurance and control. The company markets to industrial customers in the power, oil and gas, pulp and paper, and petrochemical industries.
