A new inclinometer series, PTAS2, from ASM Sensors Inc. (www.asm-sensors.com) has ranges from ±15 degrees to ±180 degrees, in 15-degree increments, in a robust, IP-68 rated stainless steel housing. The industrial-grade sensor has been tested to withstand the harsh conditions of a wide range of applications, such as factory automation machines and robotics, mobile cranes, drawbridges, adjustable platforms and off-highway construction equipment.
The PTAS2 series is available with three different absolute analog outputs: 0.5 to 5 V, 0.5 to 10 V and 4-20 mA with a typical resolution of 0.1 degree. The compact 1.7-in.- diameter housing with servo flange mounting allows for quick and easy installation. The PTAS2 is tested to withstand 100-g shocks and 20-g, 10-Hz to 2-kHz vibration.
