ProMotion Controls Inc. (www.promotioncontrols.com) has introduced a HS-862 Upgrade Kit for older ProMotion Controls Shape-Cutting Controls, including ProMotion iCNC and the uCNC, uCNC Plus, KarCNC and KarCNCx from Koike. The ProMotion iCNC a shape-cutting control that gives operators complete control of oxyfuel, plasma orwaterjet cutting processes.

The Upgrade Kit increases controller clock speed of the CPU and RAM, providing smoother and more reliable operation. With an upgraded CPU, users can take advantage of either Level 1 or Level 2 optional software productivity tools.

ProMotion Controls Level 1 Productivity Tool Software package includes tools for bridging, chain cutting, lead-in and lead-out, a plate editor, a cost calculator, and a scrap-cutting tool. Users also have the option of adding a Marking Text Generator Software Module and a Feed-Rate Software Module.

ProMotion Controls Level 2 Productivity Tool Software package is an Automatic Nesting Software package for full or multiple sheets, remnants, and round plate. It also has features for group nesting and to freeze parts in the nest.

OMAX Corp. (www.omax.com) aid Version 11 — the latest version of its waterjet control software — is the first that runs on the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. OMAX tested Windows Vista on its machines for over a year, perfecting the application to ensure that it worked at peak efficiency for machine tool motions and tool path execution.

Version 11 supports OMAX's Intelli-MAX technologies and includes a host of enhancements such as new DWF and PDF file importing, updated DWG, DXF, and IGES, as well as other file import filters designed for compatibility with additional software. The software is also available in Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Chinese and Polish. In addition to running on Windows Vista, Version 11 will maintain compatibility with Windows 2000 and Windows XP operating systems.
