3M (www.3m.com) recently acquired Diamond Productions Inc., a manufacturer of superabrasive diamond and CBN (cubic boron nitride) wheels and tools for dimensioning and finishing hard-togrind materials in metalworking, woodworking and stone fabrication markets. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Diamond Productions Inc. gives 3M's grinding and finishing tool businesses new industrial metalworking products and new applications for stone processing. The company has had grinding and finishing products for the industrial and commercial markets.

In a prepared statement on the acquisition, 3M said Diamond Production expands its capabilities for dimensioning hard-to-grind materials in such applications as kitchen countertops, monuments and structural granite as well as difficult to grind carbides, ceramics and glass.
